Toronto Hydro Overhead and Underground Construction
Toronto Hydro is planning to rebuild and relocate the overhead and underground electrical system in the community in preparation for the GO Expansion Electrification program. The two projects in our neighbourhood will be at both ends of the BIA.
The western end –Project Victoria Park – Thora, The boundaries include Danforth Avenue (North), Thora Avenue (East), Gerrard Street East (South) and Victoria Park Avenue (West).
The eastern end- Project Eastwood – Kimridge, The boundaries include Mack Avenue (North), Wolcott Avenue & Eastwood Avenue (East), Kingston Road (South) and Warden Avenue (West).
Throughout this project, planned outages may be necessary to switch from the old to the new electrical system and advance notice. Is supposed to be provided.
Be advised that as a result of the project, contractor may be trimming a number of the overgrown trees on the public property allowance in order to accommodate new hydro infrastructure. Upon project completion, affected areas will be restored.
The projects are expected to begin by early May 2019 with an approximate completion date of late December 2019.

Major Road Resurfacing of Danforth Road from St. Clair Avenue to Danforth Avenue
Replacement of old asphalt surface with new asphalt surface, including repairs of any damaged sidewalks and curbs. Work may include the closure of individual lanes or the entire road.
The City will also be implementing intersection improvements on Danforth Road at Warden Avenue, Birchmount Road, Kennedy Road and St. Clair Avenue East (see circles on map).
The project is expected to start late July 2019 and be completed by mid November 2019.
