Wheels on the Danforth is truly a community event, jammed full with fabulous family fun activities. Presented by the Crossroads of the Danforth BIA, a non-profit organization which supports the Oakridge community in the City of Toronto.
Over the past 7 years, our festival has grown by leaps and bounds. Starting as a small park event, we are now a large significant event in the City of Toronto and listed as one of Toronto’s Top 20 must attend festivals. We are expecting to attract over 15,000 attendees from all over the GTA and beyond. These attendees are diverse in both age and ethnicity.
On the Friday evening, we will be hosting a free movie night in Oakridge Park. Music, games and activates will be enjoyed prior to the movie.
On Saturday, we host Toronto’s only `On the Street Judged Car Show’ featuring an amazing assortment of classic, exotics, tuners, muscle cars, hot rods and motorcycles which our attendees can stroll by on the closed section of Danforth Avenue.
These aren’t the only wheels we will be attracting. We will be joined again this year by the Toronto East Bike Festival and their cycling groups creating a fun, learning cycling experience. Bike tuning, activities, demonstrations and booths will be promotingsafe riding. We welcome all forms of `Wheels’.
Located in Oakridge Park will be our free Kid’s Zone with lots of activities, bouncy castles and plenty of room for kids of all ages to enjoy themselves. Our children and family programming will be happening throughout the day. Located at the corner of Danforth Ave and Danforth Rd, our main stage will play host to various talented street performers, artists and featured bands. There will be a variety of vendors and artisans with lots of things to eat, see and buy.
Our mission is to provide our visitors an incredibly fun experience while supporting our community, sponsors and local charities.
